Despite only forming as a new club in late 2013, the Western Storm were granted an invitation to compete in the Foxtel Cup knockout competition for 2014 ahead of 2013 runners-up Burnie. The Storm scored a stirring victory against reigning Foxtel Cup champions West Adelaide in their debut game in Adelaide. However, the long trip to Perth mid-week saw them defeated by WAFL club West Perth in the Semi-finals. Round 1 Semi-finals ==State game==
