Republican primary General election District 3 Incumbent Republican commissioner Roger Koopman ran for re-election to a second term. State representative Pat Noonan became the Democratic nominee, while Caron Cooper ran as an independent candidate. Koopman won re-election.

Bob Lake ran for re-election to a second term. Democratic former commissioner
Gail Gutsche won a three-way primary to run in a rematch against Lake.
