With the win, the Wolverines clinched the Big Ten Conference regular-season championship for the first time since
2014 due to having the highest winning percentage in the conference. On March 7, Michigan lost to Michigan State 70–64 in its final game of the regular season. This was Michigan's first loss to an unranked opponent this season.
