The Thunder finished the 2024–25 season with a 68–14 record, placing first in the Northwest division and securing the top seed in the Western Conference for the second consecutive year. In the playoffs, the Thunder swept the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round, defeated the Denver Nuggets in seven games in the second round, and won the Western Conference Finals in five games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, advancing to the NBA Finals for the first time since the 2011–12 season.
