Sebastopolis, (modern
Turkey) by
Arab forces led by
Muhammad ibn Marwan. During the battle, a "special military corps" (some 20,000
Slavs) under
Neboulos deserts the Byzantine lines, and goes over to the
Muslim Arabs. •
