One Day International (ODI) squad for their series
against Bangladesh. He made his ODI debut for the West Indies, against
Bangladesh, on 20 January 2021. In February 2021, he was named in the West Indies'
Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series
against Sri Lanka. In May 2021, Akeal was given a white-ball central contract by the
Cricket West Indies for the 2020–21 season. He was one of the 10 players to be given a white-ball central contract for the 2020–21 season. In June 2021, he was added to the West Indies'
Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series
against South Africa. He made his T20I debut on 3 July 2021, for the West Indies against
