Financial Times reviewed the book and wrote "The Tapscotts provide a thorough, balanced and enlightening guide to the next big thing",. In the summer of 2016, Tapscott co-convened a meeting of blockchain stakeholders in
Muskoka, Ontario to discuss governance of the whole blockchain ecosystem. On November 5, 2017, he announced that NextBlock was forced to scrap IPO plans due to being dropped by their underwriter, CIBC, after the company is reported to have made false and misleading statements in its marketing materials. Tapscott and NextBlock settled charges with the
