The census reported that 99.2% of the population lived in households, 0.3% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and 0.6% were institutionalized. There were 1,199 households, out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18. Of all households, 35.2% were married-couple households, 7.9% were
cohabiting couple households, 35.0% had a female householder with no spouse or partner present, and 21.9% had a male householder with no spouse or partner present. About 35.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25. There were 702
