Since 1975, the ASCRS annually awards the Binkhorst medal to doctors who have made significant contributions to the science and practice of ophthalmology, which includes a stipend to give the Binkhorst lecture.
Ophthalmology Hall of Fame Since 1999, the ASCRS has hosted the Ophthalmology Hall of Fame to which it periodically elects pioneers of ophthalmology as well as those who have significantly inspired, supported and led the development of ophthalmology.
