Riley was first elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1992. He served the
18th District for ten years until February 1, 2003. Prior to assuming his current role, Riley was Executive Director of the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority. Riley is a
Democrat. In November 2020, Riley was named a volunteer member of the
Joe Biden presidential transition Agency Review Team to support transition efforts related to the
Department of Housing and Urban Development and the
