History
The original name of the general area was Cody Villa, after the Cody family that moved there in the 1890s. Later, the community was known as Crooked Lake after the adjacent body of water of the same name. The town was soon renamed from Crooked Lake to Babson Park after him. ==Demographics==

2020 census As of the 2020 census, Babson Park had a population of 1,330. The median age was 25.5 years. 20.6% of residents were under the age of 18 and 13.5% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 147.7 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 176.4 males age 18 and over. 0.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 100.0% lived in rural areas. There were 390 households in Babson Park, of which 30.5% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 45.1% were married-couple households, 19.5% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 24.1% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 24.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. of 2000, there were 1,182 people, 367 households, and 277 families residing in the CDP.
