2020 census, the county had a population of 25,493. The median age was 40.5 years, with 24.1% of residents under the age of 18 and 20.1% 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 96.6 males. 57.9% of residents lived in urban areas, while 42.1% lived in rural areas.
