Subsequent developments
Most of the act was repealed by section 120(2) of, and schedule 19 to, the Building Societies Act 1986, which came into force on 1 January 1987. The remainder of the act, including Part VII (dissolution and winding up of building societies), was repealed on 1 January 1988. == Notes ==
