Oligocene to
Lower Miocene Vasquez Formation, and underlies the
Upper Miocene Mint Canyon Formation. The Tick Canyon strata also contain abundant volcanic clasts, most of which resemble volcanic rocks of the Vasquez Formation. It has an average thickness of .
