Charles Greely Loring (general)

Charles Greely Loring Jr. was an American military officer who attained the rank of brevet major general in the Union Army during the Civil War. He later served as curator and director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

He died at his family's home in Beverly in August 1902, aged 73. His funeral service at King's Chapel in Boston was conducted by Edward Everett Hale. A drawing of Loring by James E.
