HM Chief Inspector of Prisons

His Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons is the head of HM Inspectorate of Prisons and the senior inspector of prisons, young offender institutions and immigration service detention and removal centres in England and Wales. The current chief inspector is Charlie Taylor.

Prisons Act 1835
The Prisons Act 1835 (5 & 6 Will. 4. c. 38) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland that introduced five paid prison inspectors. Sections 2, 5, 6, 11, and 12 of the act were repealed by section 73 of, and the third schedule to, the Prison Act 1865 (28 & 29 Vict. c. 126). The whole act was repealed by section 1 of, and the first schedule to, the Statute Law Revision Act 1953 (2 & 3 Eliz. 2. c. 5). == HM Chief Inspectors of Prisons ==
