Short title, commencement and extent Section 14(1) of the act provided that the act may be cited as the Coinage Act 1971. Section 14(2) of the act provided that the act would extend to
Northern Ireland. Section 14(3) of the act provided that the act would come into force at the end of the transitional period defined by section 16(1) of the
Decimal Currency Act 1969. The
