David Tal (historian)

Tal completed all his undergraduate and graduate degrees in history at Tel Aviv University, receiving his BA in 1986, MA in 1990, and Ph.D. in 1995. He was an instructor in the Department of History at Tel Aviv University from 1994 to 1996 and a lecturer in the Program of Security Studies from 1996 to 2005. He was a NATO Research Fellow from 2000 to 2002. Since 2005, Tal has been a visiting professor at Emory University (2005–2006, 2008–2009) and Syracuse University (2006–2008). In 2009, he joined the Department of History at the University of Calgary as the Kahanoff Chair in Israeli Studies (2009–2014).
