The CDP is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Ellicott CDP was 1,248 at the United States Census 2020.

The United States Census Bureau initially defined the for the 2020 census As of the 2020 census, Ellicott had a population of 1,248. The median age was 35.7 years. 31.7% of residents were under the age of 18 and 13.9% were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females, there were 97.5 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.8 males age 18 and over. There were 398 households in Ellicott, of which 37.2% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 55.8% were married-couple households, 21.6% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 16.8% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 23.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. There were 430 housing units, of which 7.4% were vacant.
