Racial and ethnic composition 2020 census As of the
2020 census, Wellington had a population of 61,637. The median age was 42.1 years. 23.6% of residents were under the age of 18 and 16.6% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 92.1 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 88.0 males age 18 and over. 99.3% of residents lived in urban areas, while 0.7% lived in rural areas. There were 21,638 households in Wellington, of which 38.6% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 59.5% were married-couple households, 11.4% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 23.7% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 17.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
Income and poverty As of 2015, the median income for a household in the village was $77,233. The
per capita income for the village was $40,726. About 2.9% of families and 4.3% of the population were below the
poverty line, including 4.2% of those under age 18 and 3.8% of those age 65 or over.
2010 census As of the
2010 United States census, there were 56,508 people, 17,680 households, and 13,916 families residing in the village.
2000 census In 2000, there were 12,938 households, out of which 69.7% were married couples, 47.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.4% were non-families. 13.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.95 and the average family size was 3.25. In 2000, the village the population was spread out, with 31.0% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 95.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.6 males. As of 2000, the median income for a household in the village was $70,271, and the median income for a family was $77,078. Males had a median income of $53,244 versus $33,088 for females. The
