Six began his law career in New York City with Reid & Priest. He served on the Supreme Court from September 1988 to January 2003. Six was a fellow of the
American Bar Foundation and Kansas Bar Foundation. He was president of the Kansas Law Society and a board member of the
Kansas Bar Association. Six was chair of the Kansas Client Security Fund and volunteered with the Douglas County Legal Aid Society. He received the Kansas Bar Association's Outstanding Service Award and the Philip Lewis Medal of Distinction from the University of Kansas School of Law. == Personal life ==
