2020 census As of the
2020 census, Geronimo had a population of 1,158. The median age was 36.0 years. 26.0% of residents were under the age of 18 and 12.5% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 108.6 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 103.1 males age 18 and over. There were 449 households in Geronimo, of which 37.4% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 48.1% were married-couple households, 19.2% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 26.5% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 27.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. There were 523 housing units, of which 14.1% were vacant. The homeowner vacancy rate was 2.1% and the rental vacancy rate was 13.4%.

The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.22. In the town, the population was spread out, with 30.4% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31.5 years. For every 100 females, there were 90.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.3 males.
