Greenacres first appeared as an unincorporated place in the
1970 U.S. census; The age distribution was 23.7% under the age of 18, 7.9% aged 18 to 24, 25.0% aged 25 to 44, 25.8% aged 45 to 64, and 17.6% who were 65years of age or older. The median age was 39.4years. For every 100 females, there were 101.1 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 97.1 males age 18 and over. There were 1,963 households, out of which 33.9% included children under the age of 18, 51.7% were married-couple households, 6.7% were
cohabiting couple households, 23.1% had a female householder with no partner present, and 18.5% had a male householder with no partner present. 22.5% of households were one person, and 10.9% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.79. There were 1,435
