Guachochi is one of the 67
municipalities of Chihuahua, in northern
Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Guachochi. The municipality covers an area of 4,340.35 km2. It was created by the
State Congress on 31 December 1962, with its excision from the municipality of
Batopilas. As of 2010, the municipality had a total population of 49,689, As of 2010, the city of Guachochi had a population of 14,513. Other than the city of Guachochi, the municipality had 1,508 localities, the largest of which (with 2010 populations in parentheses) was:
