Jindřich Uzel Germanized as Heinrich Uzel was a Czech naturalist, entomologist and plant pathologist. For his pioneering monograph on the thrips, he has been called the father of Thysanoptera studies. The genus Uzelothrips in the family Uzelothripidae is named in his honour.
