Horodnytsia was first mentioned in 1685, when it was a town. During
Soviet times it served as a
district centre. In 1926 the settlement had 2,700 inhabitants. In 2001 the population was 5,604. Until 26 January 2024, Horodnytsia was designated
urban-type settlement. On this day, a new law entered into force which abolished this status, and Horodnytsia became a rural settlement. ==Economy==
