He was an assistant on Dave Barnett's staff for the Flagler Saints in 2005 and 2006. He would spend the 2007 season as an assistant coach for the Des Moines Area Bears, before being promoted to head coach starting with the 2008 season. Prior to the 2017 season, he was promoted to associate head coach.
