2020 census As of the
2020 census, Hurricane had a population of 20,036, a median age of 38.7 years, 26.4% of residents under the age of 18, and 21.5% of residents 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 102.8 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 101.4 males age 18 and over. 78.9% of residents lived in urban areas, while 21.1% lived in rural areas. There were 6,982 households in Hurricane, of which 31.7% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 61.9% were married-couple households, 14.0% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 19.5% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present.
