Political career
By 1984, Glasscock was chairman of the House Committee on Health, Welfare and Institutions. In the mid-1980s, he sponsored legislation to require safety belt use in Virginia. During the 1986 debate, he objected to limiting seat-belt citations to stops made for other offenses. A Virginia Transportation Research Council study on mandatory seat-belt use was initiated at his request and proposed model legislation for inclusion in the Code of Virginia. ==References==
