Schools in Norway are usually divided into the following categories: elementary schools for 1st to 7th grade, lower secondary schools for 8th to 10th grade, upper secondary schools for 11th to 13th grade, colleges, and universities. The common name for schools with grades 1 through 10 is grunnskole.
