He died at St. Dominic's Hospital in
East London on the 11 July 2011. He was buried at Mngqesha Great Place in
King William's Town on the 23 July 2011, he was given
state funeral together with

President Jacob Zuma never attended but sent his condolences to the family and
eulogy was made on his behalf by the ANC parliamentary chief whip
