2020 census As of the
2020 census, the county had a population of 762. Of the residents, 23.8% were under the age of 18 and 27.3% were 65 years of age or older; the median age was 45.0 years. Among occupied housing units, 70.5% were owner-occupied and 29.5% were renter-occupied. The homeowner vacancy rate was 1.6% and the rental vacancy rate was 7.0%.

The median income for a household in the county was $37,969 and the median income for a family was $51,458. Males had a median income of $38,194 versus $26,563 for females.
