Future extensions
An extension further into Nordhavn, with the creation of two new stations (Levantkaj and Nordsø Plads) are planned for 2030, with construction starting in 2027. Two possible extensions from Copenhagen South Station are being looked into. One towards Hvidovre and one towards Bispebjerg. To enable such future extensions from Copenhagen South (the current terminus of M4), it was decided in 2016 that the station would be built as an underground station instead of overground as previously planned. ==References==
