Tchicaya worked roles in administration in the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Deputy Director of Political Affairs, and then as Deputy Director of International Cooperation. From 1970 to 1975, she worked in the Ministry of Tourism as the Director of Tourism Promotion Operations. In 1976, she was elected to the
National Assembly of Côte d'Ivoire during its fifth legislature for the
Democratic Party of Ivory Coast – African Democratic Rally (PDCI), where she served until 1980. She declined President
Félix Houphouët-Boigny's offer to run for a second term as she was, according to
