Marcus Clarke is a British puppeteer, puppet maker and exhibiting visual fine artist marcusclarkeart from Nottinghamshire where he still lives. He is best known as the puppeteer and voice actor behind the BAFTA-winning CITV and most recently Emmy Nominated Amazon Studios TV Series Bookaboo He was also the principal puppeteer of Audrey II in the 1986 version of Little Shop of Horrors. Clarke has worked as a puppeteer in over 60 television series, including 2019's Netflix Dark Crystal Age of Resistance and has co-created a similar number of puppets with his Partnership Company Hands Up Puppets. He was also a puppeteer and voice actor in two Muppet feature films and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Current Puppetry and Puppeteering work (2025) revolves around his own Puppet Parody characters including Burt and Cindy Gal and Comedy Songs unloaded to HuPyoutube In 2021 marcus, formerly a West End Theatre Tech ASM 1980-1986 Song and Dance Marilyn! the Musical Follies returned to work part time in backstage technical theatre at his local TRCH Currently his artistic focus is on his Visual Fine Art work, often involving layered Puppetry elements. He frequently exhibits his Artworks in Nottinghamshire Galleries.
