The student demographic is about 82% Caucasian, 10% Asian, 3% Black, and 3% Hispanic with 50% being male and 50% being female.

Extracurriculars
The district offers a wide variety of clubs, activities and an extensive sports program. Visual and Performing Arts In 2019, Marple Newtown was named a "Best Community for Music Education" by the NAMM Foundation. It also received the award in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. The Marple Newtown High School Tiger Marching Band has won three Cavalcade of Bands open-class championships (2014, 2015 and 2016).
