As a youth player, Paalberg joined the youth academy of Estonian side Vaprus and was promoted to the club's senior team in 2024. On 19 May 2024, he debuted for them during a 0–2 home loss to Levadia in the league. On 2 February 2026, Paalberg signed with Saint-Étienne in French Ligue 2. ==International career==
