Michael Edward Marks is an American author noted for his work in counterterrorism, special operations and counter illicit traffic, most recently co-authoring "Never Mind, We'll Do It Ourselves", the story of the creation of the Predator drone program and its evolution into one of the world's deadliest and innovative armed platforms, as told from inside the CIA and Air Force. He previously co-authored "Understanding Narrative: The Battle of the Narrative and the Operations Process" published by the U.S. Army Asymmetric Warfare Group in 2014, drawn from his work for US Special Operations throughout Afghanistan in 2011-2012. At the National Geo-Spatial Intelligence Agency, Mr. Marks designed a predictive model to track the movement of high-value materials across non-permissive theaters that was adopted by various members of the Intelligence community. Prior to this effort, Mr. Marks was responsible for mapping illicit traffic patterns across the Horn of Africa, Yemen, Central Asia and the Balkans in support of US Special Operations and the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO).
