Peter Michael Black is an American former professional football punter who played five seasons with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Lions in the seventh round of the 1983 NFL draft after playing college football at Arizona State University.

Peter Michael Black was born on January 18, 1961, in Glendale, California. He attended Glendale High School in Glendale. Black was named first-team All-Pac-10 punter in 1980, 1981 and 1982, averaging 43.4, 42.5 and 44.3 yards per punt respectively in those seasons. ==Professional career==
Professional career
Black was selected by the Detroit Lions in the seventh round, with the 181st overall pick, of the 1983 NFL draft. Black signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 1987. He was released on August 31, 1987. On September 29, 1987, Black signed with the Lions during the 1987 NFL players strike.
