"Red" Leathers was a prominent guard for the Georgia Bulldogs of the University of Georgia from 1929 to 1931. He made an all-time Georgia Bulldogs football team picked in 1935. 1929 He was a part of the team which beat Yale at Sanford Stadium in the school's first trip south on October 12, 1929. 1930 and 1931 He was selected All-Southern in 1930 and 1931. In 1931 he was selected a second-team All-American by the International News Service. ==Professional football==
