On June 5, 2024, Mattel, through its film division, and Universal Pictures announced they are developing a theatrical live-action Monster High film. Akiva Goldsman will write and produce under his banner, Weed Road Pictures, with producer Robbie Brenner. One year later, Gerard Johnstone was set to direct.
