Pesch began his youth career at
Bayer Leverkusen in 2010, where he would stay for 14 years before leaving for
Borussia Mönchengladbach, and would begin to play for the
reserve team in the
Regionalliga West. He made his debut in a 4-2 away win over
Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, scoring 2 goals. Pesch would continue this goalscoring form over the following months, scoring 17 goals in 20 league games, including a
hat-trick in a 6-4 win over Eintracht Hohkeppel. Pesch wpuld finish the season as top scorer in the league with 19 goals. Pesch would make his debut for the first team in March, coming on as a late substitute in a 3-1
