A by-election is held to fill a political office that has become vacant between the scheduled elections. Bridge Ward by-election, (20 October 2011) Due to the death of Cllr Ian McLennan (Labour), a by-election was called in the city's Bridge ward in October 2011. It took place on 20 October.
