Poor Law Act 1927

The Poor Law Act 1927 was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that consolidated enactments relating to English poor law.

Provisions
Short title, commencement and extent Section 246(1) of the act provided that the act may be cited as the Poor Law Act, 1927. Section 246(2) of the act provided that the act would come into force on 1 October 1927. Section 246(3) of the act provided that the act would not extend to Scotland or Northern Ireland. Repealed enactments Section 245 of the act repealed 99 enactments, listed in the eleventh schedule to the act. == Legacy ==
