About 28.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. There were 2,275 housing units, of which 16.5% were vacant. The homeowner vacancy rate was 2.5% and the rental vacancy rate was 26.9%.

Of the 1,138 households, 40.3% had children under 18 living with them, 58.2% were married couples living together, 9.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were not families. About 22.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 2.5% had someone living alone who was 65 or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.13. In the city, the age distribution was 28.8% under 18, 12.8% from 18 to 24, 31.9% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 6.0% who were 65 or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females, there were 99.3 males. For every 100 females 18 and over, there were 98.6 males. The median income for a household in the city was $45,000, and for a family was $54,280. Males had a median income of $39,911 versus $22,773 for females. The
