According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , of which (or 99.05%) is land and (or 0.95%) is water. It was made a station of the old
Chicago & Atlantic Railway about 1887, which reorganized as the Chicago & Erie Railroad from 1890 to 1941. The old
right-of-way could become part of an extended
Erie Lackawanna Trail. Part of the hamlet may be in
Union Township.
