Racial and ethnic composition 2020 census As of the
2020 census, Romulus had a population of 25,178. The median age was 37.5 years. 24.2% of residents were under the age of 18 and 13.5% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 92.0 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 88.4 males age 18 and over. The average household size was 2.70 and the average family size was 3.19. In the city, 29.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.4% was from 18 to 24, 31.7% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 7.9% was 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years.
