2020 census As of the
2020 census, Rosemount had a population of 25,650. The median age was 37.8 years. 28.3% of residents were under the age of 18 and 12.3% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 96.0 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 93.3 males age 18 and over. 93.1% of residents lived in urban areas, while 6.9% lived in rural areas. There were 8,931 households in Rosemount, of which 41.9% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 63.1% were married-couple households, 11.1% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 20.3% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 18.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. There were 9,138 housing units, of which 2.3% were vacant. The homeowner vacancy rate was 0.8% and the rental vacancy rate was 3.3%.

The average household size was 2.88 and the average family size was 3.27. The median age in the city was 34.7 years. 30.7% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 29.8% were from 25 to 44; 25.2% were from 45 to 64; and 7.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 49.4% male and 50.6% female.

The average household size was 3.08 and the average family size was 3.38. In the city, the population was spread out, with 35.1% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 36.5% from 25 to 44, 16.8% from 45 to 64, and 5.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females, there were 99.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.6 males.
