Rossmoor first appeared as a
census designated place in the
1990 U.S. census. 100.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 0.0% lived in rural areas. There were 2,127 households in Rossmoor, of which 1.5% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 28.3% were married-couple households, 16.2% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 52.0% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 61.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 51.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The median age was 77 years. For every 100 females, there were 50.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 50.1 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $33,104, and the median income for a family was $41,847. Males had a median income of $65,385 versus $38,750 for females. The
per capita income for the CDP was $31,178. About 1.1% of families and 4.3% of the population were below the
