Sewaren first appeared as a
census designated place in the
1990 U.S. census. 100.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 0.0% lived in rural areas. There were 1,037 households in Sewaren, of which 30.5% had children under the age of 18 living in them. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 92.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.1 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $62,381, and the median income for a family was $72,685. Males had a median income of $46,683 versus $35,655 for females. The
per capita income for the CDP was $24,681. About 2.5% of families and 3.5% of the population were below the
